But what does “perform better” actually mean? Where does the research form a consensus on correlation, and where does it seem more like a one-off finding?

In this report I find five key areas where women managers appear to have a positive effect on organizational performance: innovation and creativity, risk taking (negative correlation), financial performance, team building, and employee motivation.
